David R. Green, Age 91, of Chestnut Hill, MA passed away peacefully on February 26, 2019. He was the cherished husband of Phyllis (Berson), and the beloved father of Lawrence Green (Denise), Alan Green (Joanne Marks) Betty Green (Dan Berlowitz) and Bruce Green (Karen). David was also the very loving grandfather of Adam and Stacey Green, Allison Green, Nathaniel and Crystal Green, Ben and Celia Green, Sarah and Joshua Mollov, Samantha and Drew Tieniber, Jonathan Berlowitz and Jeffrey Berlowitz, proud great-grandfather of Andrew, Ariana, Dylan, June, Oscar, Juliet, Chip, Vivienne and Amy, and adored uncle to many nieces and nephews. David grew up in Malden and was the dear son of Ezra and Beatrice Green and beloved brother of the late Lois Greenberg. He graduated from Malden High School
and Bates College, captaining the varsity golf team at both schools.David served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Korea in 1949. David had a long and successful career as a sportswear sales executive, first at
Revere Knitting Mills and later Beacon Hill Associates. He was an avid golfer and addicted bridge player, but his primary passion was his family. He always provided wise counsel, as well as great stories and jokes(often repeated), and he was a role model for all. The family wishes to express great appreciation to David’s caregivers over the past three years.
Funeral services will be held at Levine Chapel, 470 Harvard Street, Brookline, Massachusetts on Friday, March 1 at 10am, with interment at the Sharon Memorial Park.
Following interment family and friends are invited to a memorial reception in the function room at 280 Boylston Street, Chestnut Hill through 4pm. The family will be sitting shiva Saturday, March 2 from 7-9 pm, and Sunday, March 3 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm in his late residence 280 Boylston Street Chestnut Hill unit 610.
