Betty Ann (Weiner) Landy

Betty Ann (Weiner) Landy, 86, of N. Andover, formerly of Andover, on Monday, March 5, 2018. Beloved wife of the late Harold Landy. Loving mother of David Landy, Susan Nirens & her husband Paul and Rabbi Karen Landy & her wife Rhonda Cherry. Cherished grandmother of Adam, Gal, Sivan, Aviv, Yoav, Eli and Maayan. Dear sister of Nat Weiner & his wife Donna and Edward Weiner & his late wife Jane. Lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews and grandogs.

Betty was a devoted social worker who was instrumental in creating community living for people with disabilities in the Merrimack Valley. She was active in many organizations including Fidelity House, Hadassah, Merrimack Valley Jewish Federation and Lawrence Public Schools Afterschool Reading Program.

Services at Temple Emanuel, 7 Haggetts Pond Road, Andover, on Friday, March 9 at 11am.

Burial in the Children of Abraham Cemetery, 260 Beacon St., Lawrence.

Following the burial, family and friends will return to Temple Emanuel until 3pm. Memorial observance will continue on Sunday, March 11 at Edgewood Retirement Community 525 Osgood Street, North Andover from 2–4pm and on Monday, March 12 at NewBridge on the Charles, 7000 Great Meadow Road, Dedham from 2–4pm.
