Arnie and I played racquetball together for more than 20 years at Boca Pointe in Florida. We were pretty even in wins and losses, but the pleasure of playing with him made all the difference. He was a delightful companion and friend, with a cheering personality and a warm-hearted outlook on life. He had a remarkable family which was justifiably his greatest joy. Our families enjoyed many happy hours together. Judy and I will miss him greatly.

Arnie was a true Mensch. He always saw the glass as half full and would always have an upbeat comment. Even while he was sick he would call me on a regular basis and ask how things were going as President of The Chamber wanting an update on how our search was going for a new Executive Director and what was going on in the old neighborhood of South Brookline. Ironically I found out today about his families involvement with Temple Emeth.  Arnie is certainly chuckling that he kept one from me as I use to play for the Emeth Softball Team and my wife's family were founding members of the shul.....Even at his passing he has taught me one more thing. Rest easy my friend.

Arnie was a true, genuine man who accomplished alot of life in whoever he encountered. The world needs more people like Arnie Schaffer. Thank you Arnie.

I will always remember Arnie. He was always very kind to me (even when I was a young kid and my Mom worked for him). Later on when I became a CPA, Arnie was always available for words of wisdom/advice. Seeing Arnie at the Tax Roundtable on Monday nights was always a pleasure.
I will miss him. z"tl, may Arnie's name be for a blessing.

Arnie was warm, caring, and welcoming.  He cared about the Brookline Chamber of Commerce and was a beloved member of the Board. 

Arnie liked to make others laugh. And, he was persuasive. If you were talented, lived in Brookline, and met at a golf tournament, you might end up on the Brookline Chamber of Commerce Board. If you did business with him you might be inclined to join the Chamber.

Arnie was especially grateful and proud of his loving wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He spoke of them often.

Arnie was a caring, loving and wonderful person. He recruited me into the Brookline Chamber of Commerce in 2007 and our friendship grew from there. We would meet for coffee and call each other around the holidays. 
Arnie loved talking about his loving wife, Rhonda, his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  
The world will miss one of the good ones!
