Ann Kane Collier, 91, of Boston, MA and Ogunquit, ME, passed away peacefully in her home on January 5, 2025. She was born in June 1933, in Boston, MA, to the late Sally and George Kane.
Ann was the Founding President of the Boston Strasburg Sister City Association in 1960 and received the National Order of Merit awarded by the French government for her dedicated service. She also served as a board member of the Institute of Contemporary Art and was a member of the Beacon Hill Garden Club. Ann's passion for gardening led to her garden at her home in Ogunquit being listed in the Archives of American Gardens at the Smithsonian.
In her free time, Ann enjoyed art & design, spending hours nurturing her gardens in Maine, and her love of all things French.
Ann is survived by her sons Samuel Collier, Charles Collier, Jonathan Collier and his wife Laurie, and granddaughters Clara and Rose Collier, former daughter in law Jodi Collier, grandchildren Benjamin and Sarah Collier. Aunt to Holliday Kane Rayfield, Jennifer Kane and Joseph Kane. She was preceded in death by her husband Marvin Collier, twin sons David and Thomas Collier, uncle Charles E. Smith, and brother Louis Kane and sister-in-law Katherine Kane.
A funeral service will be held for family and friends to honor Ann's life and legacy on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at Congregation Kehillath Israel, 384 Harvard Street, Brookline, MA at 11:30am. Interment in Adath Jeshurun Cemetery, 350 Grove Street, West Roxbury, MA.
