Johanna S. Schmidt-Neuman, age 93, of Geneva, passed away Thursday, October 3, 2024, at Arden Courts in Geneva, surrounded by her loving family. Services for Johanna will be held privately at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield, WI.
Johanna was born on December 11, 1930, in Inglis, Manitoba, Canada, the daughter of Stafanie Schoen. She obtained her US Citizenship/Certificate of Naturalization on January 25, 1966.
Johanna loved spending time tending to her flower and vegetable garden as well as caring for her cats. She very much enjoyed working on the auxiliary creative team for the town of Rome, WI.
Johanna graduated from Shellmouth High School in Manitoba in June 1947. She married Vernon Henry Schmidt on June 1, 1955 in Dubuque, Iowa. They lived in Germantown, WI for 30 years during which time she worked for A&P and Globe Union. She then retired and built a home with Vernon on Lake Camelot, WI. Sadley, she lost the love of her life, Vernon, on March 19, 2006.
On November 21, 2008 Johanna married her second husband Jack Neuman. In January 2023 Jack and Johanna moved to Illinois to be closer to her family. Jack Neuman passed away in May 2023.
She passed peacefully surrounded by the love and prayers of her family and the compassionate staff at Arden Court.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, her first husband Vernon Henry Schmidt, and second husband Jack Neuman.
Johanna is survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
No farewell words were spoken. No time to say goodbye, you were gone before we knew it, and only God knows why.
Memorials may be directed in Johanna’s memory to the Alzheimer Association or Arden Court of Geneva, IL.
