Patricia A. Lopez, 69 of Lecanto, Florida passed away suddenly on Sunday, March 20, 2016. She was born in Brooklyn, New York to the late Elsie Mae Carter and Herman Carter. She attended Brooklyn College and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications. Patricia was a resident of Westchester County, New York before moving down to Lecanto, Florida in 2012. She was an employee of Shearman and Sterling Law Firm and retired as a Communications Supervisor in 2007. Patricia really enjoyed a good book, reading all types of magazines, television and the Sunday morning New York Times. Patricia and her younger sister, Yvonne enjoyed talking of their favorite soap operas on a daily basis. She had a fascination for traveling often with her girlfriends and with her husband, she enjoyed cruises to many ports and islands.
Patricia is survived by her husband of 25 years, Pedro P. Lopez, her son, Daniel Lopez, her daughter Elizabeth Lopez, her nephew, Shawn Cassidy, her younger sister, Yvonne Cassidy and many aunts and nephews. She was especially, fond of her aunt Peggy Evans, her mentor. In August of 2012, she was diagnosed with breast cancer and fought valiantly to conquer it and became cancer free. Unfortunately, she succumbed to kidney failure on Palm Sunday.
