Teresa was born February 22, 1963, in Orange, California to Clifford and Ann Sulak. Her family moved to Ohio when she was a small child where she had grandparents, aunts, uncles, and many cousins. She enjoyed years with her close family. When Teresa was in her teens, she and her family returned to California.
Teresa married Justin Martindale on June 22, 1985. They were blessed with two children (Rachel and Jacob). Teresa loved being a mom and a wife. She worked full time but always had time to spend with her husband and children. She loved to scrapbook and would make photo albums, calendars, and gifts for her family. She loved all music but country was her favorite. She enjoyed taking care of her yard and home. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
In November of 2000, Teresa suffered a brain injury. She was permanently disabled and needed full-time care. In 2015 she came to live in Nebraska close to where her sisters live. She continued to be funny, joyous and never complained. While in the nursing home she became good friends with her caregivers, and she was always quick to remind them that she loved them. She was beautiful, strong, and courageous.
Survivors include her children, Rachel Martindale (Mika Whitney) of Victorville, California, and Jacob (Katelynn) of Fullerton, California. Her father Clifford Sulak of Apple Valley, California. Her sisters Jean (Marty) Keller of Paxton, Lisa Van Linda of Ogallala, Dianna (Russell) Frickey of Bridgeport. Her brothers Michael (Tamera) Sulak of Gainesville, Ohio, and Cliff Sulak of Middleburg Heights, Ohio. Many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ann Covalt, a sister Julie Covalt, and her grandparents.
