William Richard Shepherd was born in Jackson, TN on March 27, 1957 and passed away on February 13, 2013. Richard was an involved community activist; he held an active membership with the Gallatin Chamber of Commerce. Richard was a member of the Kappa Alpha fraternity at the University of Kentucky. He was also co-owner of the Cockeyed Pig Barbecue Restaurant. He is preceded in death by his father, Jack Shepherd, Sr., brother, Jack Shepherd, Jr. He is survived by his loving partner of thirteen years, Dennis Ottum, Mother, Anne Shepherd, sister, Anna (Mark) Best, nieces, Morganne and Emma Kate Best, dogs, Pumpkin, Zeus, and Buster, as well as many friends and acquaintances. A time of visiting with family and friends will be on Friday, February 15, 2013 from four o’clock until eight o’clock at Brentwood Roesch Patton Funeral Home. A ceremony to honor Richard’s life will be conducted on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at ten o’clock in the morning in the chapel of Brentwood Roesch Paton Funeral Home. A family burial will take place in Hollywood Cemetery in Jackson, TN.
