Wanda grew up in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee and graduated from Mt. Juliet High School. She attended Austin Peay State University and earned a degree in psychology. She was a majorette in APSU’s marching band, and it was there that she met trumpet player and future husband, Raymond Paley. After college, they resided in Nashville where she took great joy in raising two daughters.
Her favorite hobbies included interior design and genealogy, but her greatest love was spending time with her three year old granddaughter, Reagan. She was a member of the Cumberland Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution and enjoyed volunteering through this organization. She will be remembered most for her gift of making others feel loved and included.
Mrs. Paley was predeceased by her father, Albert Monroe Rich, Jr., sister Martha Alice Rich Davis, and brother Ricky Rich. She is survived by her mother, Grace Rich of Mt. Juliet, TN; her loving husband of 43 years, Raymond Paley of Brentwood, TN; daughters Rae Danielle (Read) Talley of Nashville, TN, and Kelly Rich Paley of Nashville, TN; one granddaughter, Reagan Hicks Talley; sisters Linda (Edward) Hardaway of Mt. Juliet, TN, and Mary “Libby” Ruis of Lebanon, TN.
Visitation will be held at Brentwood United Methodist Church on Thursday, July 18, 2019 from 3:00-4:00 pm. Funeral service will be at 4:00 pm, and all are welcome to join a celebration of life at Brentwood Country Club from 5:00-7:00 pm.
