Sydney Rae Sloan

SLOAN, Sydney Rae – Age 22 of Brentwood, passed away on May 02, 2012. Survived by parents Robert L. and Linda Jo Sloan; sister, Madison Sloan; grandmother's, Ruth Sloan and Loise Carleen Hammond, both of Casey, IL; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and many friends. Sydney attended grade school in IL and MN, her high school years were spent at Ravenwood High School in Brentwood, TN and she also had the opportunity to attend the International Institute deLancy in Geneva, Switzerland where she became fluent in French. Sydney was someone who loved life and all the experiences it offered. Her personality captured the attention of all who had the privilege to be in her presence. She was involved in many activities while in school including mock trial, choir, soccer, rugby, the swim team, and horseback riding. As an upcoming graduate and senior of the University of Tennessee, she was a member of the Sigma Kappa Sorority, her major was in Audiology and her passion was to complete her graduate studies and go on to serve the pediatric community. She loved children, and even had the heart to work as a camp counselor to children with special needs. Her personality was larger than life, but her heart was even bigger. To those who knew and loved her, their lives have been exponentially blessed by her love. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 4:30 in the afternoon at Brentwood-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home. The family will receive friends two hours prior from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. that day. Interment will be held in Casey, IL on Monday, May 7, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Washington Street Cemetery.
