Richard McLeod Winstead

Richard McLeod Winstead, age 76, of Brentwood, Tennessee passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2023. Born on December 9th, 1946 in Madisonville, Kentucky to the late Strauther and Margaret Winstead. He began his education at Georgetown College and received his bachelor's degree. Shortly after he volunteered to serve in the United States Army. He later received his MBA at Indiana University.

He was a longtime member of Nashville First Baptist Church where he was a Deacon, Sunday School teacher, member of the executive committee, and former chairman of the finance and personnel committees. He was treasurer of the Tennessee Baptist Historical Society. Nashville CPA with firms Crosslin, PLLC and Arthur Andersen. As well as, Sons of the American Revolution, S.T.A.R.S., and numerous other CPA organizations.

Richard is preceded in death by his infant son, William Henry.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly; daughter, Rachel (David) Zegley; son, Andrew; granddaughters, Brooke and Reagan; brothers, Charles and Robert; sister, Ann; ten nieces and nephews and numerous great and great great nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service for Richard will be held Monday, October 16th, 2023 at 1:00pm with Visitation to follow at Nashville First Baptist Church, 108 7th Ave S., Nashville, TN 37203. A Graveside Service will be held on October 17th, 2023 at 3:00pm at Greenwood Cemetery, 3500 Tazewell Pike, Knoxville, TN 37918.
