Peggy Lynn Hansard Evans passed away peacefully on April 9, 2025, leaving a void in the hearts of her family that cannot be filled. She is survived by her two daughters, Jenni (Andy) and Katie; grandchildren Caroline, Drew, Calleigh, Ellie, and James; and her brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Sam L. Hansard II and Sherry Hansard. Peggy is preceded in death by her devoted husband of 35 years, Richard (Rick) Evans; her parents, Dr. Samuel Leroy Hansard and Erma Mae Brobeck Hansard; and her sister, Mrs. Martha Roach.
Born on November 16, 1948, in Knoxville, Tennessee, Peggy was the daughter of Dr. Samuel Leroy Hansard and Erma Mae Brobeck Hansard. She graduated from the University of Tennessee with a degree in marketing and dedicated her life to caring for her children, grandchildren, and beloved dogs. Peggy had a deep love for reading, an extraordinary green thumb, and a knack for making the best margaritas—a skill she perfected over the years. Above all, she had a rare gift for understanding the needs of others and offering her support, always loving fiercely and generously. Peggy was known for her feisty personality and her heart of gold.
In accordance with Peggy's wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial service. A private burial will take place at Lynnhurst Cemetery in Knoxville, Tennessee.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to a charity that is meaningful to you, or, as Peggy always said, “Do something to make someone else feel good today."
