Orville Edison Jones

JONES, Orville Edison Age 100. Passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at NHC nursing home in Franklin, TN. He was born in Amesville, Ohio on March 27, 1912 and attended Amesville High School where he met the love of his life, Doris Jones. They were married in 1934 in Greenup, Kentucky. They lived in Amesville, Ohio and moved to Spencer, West Virginia in 1939 before settling in Brentwood, TN in 2002, and spent their winters in Fort Myers, FL for the last 23 years. Orville was active with the Work and Witness Ministries for the Church of The Nazarene in the North District of West Virginia. He attended the Brentwood Church of the Nazarene for the past 9 years, and the Spencer Church of the Nazarene in West Virginia for 61 years, while participating on 38 World Wide Mission Trips all around world. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 74 years, Doris Jones. He is survived by his daughter, Phyllis Jones (Harlis) Johnson; a grandson, Rob Edison (Kathy Inglis) Dalton; and a great-granddaughter, Madison Elise Dalton. Funeral services will be held in Spencer, West Virginia on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Spencer Church of the Nazarene with visitation held on Friday evening from 5-7 p.m. and again Saturday from 12-1:30 p.m., also at the church in Spencer.
