Martha Overton Thetford

Martha married William B. Thetford on December 25, 1955, in Sharon, Tennessee. She worked with her husband taking care of clerical work for his orthodontic office. Martha loved planning events, snow skiing, traveling, golfing, tennis, and spending time with friends and family. She was a member of the Nashville Dental Auxiliary, active in her Garden Club, Nashville Symphony Guild, Centennial Club, and a FCA Board Member. She was an excellent bridge player and played at the state level. Martha was always an active member of her church and community. She was close to her special friends in her dental lunch bunch who had met for over 50 years. Although she accomplished a lot, her most prized possession was her family, she cherished being Nana; and always made holidays and birthdays special for everyone.

Martha was survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Bill Thetford; children, John M. Thetford, R. Keith (Kim) Thetford; grandchildren, Sarah Catherine (Richy) Teixeira, Andrew (Madison) Thetford, John O. (Sarah) Thetford, Sallie Thetford, Adam (Ashley) Thetford; great-grandchildren, Avery, Willa, Sofie, Bobby, and Heath.

Other than her parents Martha is preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Olive Ford; brother in law, Gynnath Ford.
