At a young age, Mark found his place on the basketball court - spending long evenings playing with friends and feeding his competitive spirit and love for a challenge. These traits continued to drive him; from his college degree at Seton Hall, to nearly 30 years as an Investment Banker in New York City and Chicago, to raising his four unique and amazing children.
Mark was the ultimate family man and took great pride in being a dad and raising his children. He encouraged them to “try everything”, “get out of the 4 inch iPhone world”, to “have each other’s backs” and to “EAT”. Over the years he could be found rebounding basketballs, bobbing his head to music at cheerleading competitions, hanging out under a lacrosse tent, or driving around in a golf cart keeping score at a golf tournament. Zach, Paige, Nate and Sam had the ultimate cheerleader.
He and his wife Julie loved family time and in order to have more of that time together, they moved to Brentwood, Tennessee in 2016. You would often see a Johnson invasion of the BCC driving range, the Park City Mountain slopes or the family pool. And if you met Mark in these places, he would always make sure that you had a drink in hand. Cheers to a life well lived.
To honor Mark, a small private family service will be held.
The family asks that you leave your favorite memory of Mark in the comment section below.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to wilcoyounglife.com/giving, OWLSlacrosse.org, or a charity of your choice.
