Kathleen Patti Snow, age 70, passed away Tuesday, December 20 in Nashville, TN. Daughter of the late Hubert Michael Dyer and Elizabeth Wilmot Stirling, she was preceded in death by her brothers Christopher Wilmot Dyer and Michael Mead Dyer. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Michael Snow, children Celeste Snow Shepherd and Stirling Heveran Snow, daughter-in-law Janin Otwell and son-in-law Roy Shepherd, sisters-in-law Charlene Dyer and Phyllis Dyer, niece and nephews Kate and Brad Farwell, Samuel and Stephanie Dyer, and Gilliss Dyer and Sarah Nordquist as well as four great-nieces and nephews and many devoted friends. All who knew and loved her mourn her passing deeply as she left our lives too soon.
Born in Detroit, Michigan, she lived a life that traveled from Michigan through Florida, Los Angeles, London, and finally Nashville where she and Michael made their home and raised their family for 44 years. By trade she was a legal secretary extraordinaire who crossed every “t” and dotted every “i” and made her lawyers and “baby lawyers” look good. At home, she was a loving mother and supportive mate. Serious with a sharp witted humor, she loved mystery novels, a glass of wine at the pub on a Friday afternoon, travel, poking around estate sales, gardening, throwing amazing parties and generally running the show.
She retired in February 2015, after a 40+ year career with plans of traveling and embarking on some well-deserved adventures. Now, she goes on to the next great adventure. She lives on in our hearts and minds and we give thanks to have been part of her life story. We miss you and love you.
By-and-by she will make her last trip home to Manasota Key, Florida, with her family, as her grandparents, mother, and brothers did before her. “I’ll be at the beach soon.”
A celebration of Patti’s life will be held in January in Nashville. Details will be announced after the holidays.
