HINTON, James Donald "Jim" - Age 63 of Brentwood, TN passed away on Friday, the 21st of September 2012. He was born in Hardinsburg, Kentucky on the 17th of August 1949, the son of Jeff Hinton and Jenny Flood Hinton. Jim grew up in Hardinsburg where he met the love of his life, Linda Sue Critchelow. He began his college career at the University of Notre Dame earning an undergraduate degree in accounting, and then his MBA degree from the University of Louisville. He also served his country as a Lieutenant in the United States Air Force. He spent the majority of his career working for HCA as the VP of Risk Management in Insurance, retiring after 33 years of service. A man of great loyalty, he will be remembered as a caring friend to all, trustworthy in all his actions, having a compassionate selfless attitude toward those in need, and as a blessing to all those who knew and loved him with his perseverance through his illness with a joyful determination to overcome in spite of his adversity. Jim was preceded in death by his father, Jeff Hinton. He is survived and will forever be loved by his wife of 43 years, Linda Critchelow Hinton; children, Mike (Chrissie) Hinton and Brian Hinton; cherished granddaughter, Taylor Hinton; mother, Jenny Hinton; siblings, Tony (Patty) Hinton, Gary (Snookie) Hinton, Charlie (Hildegarde) Hinton, Becky (John) Brown, Marvin (Susan) Hinton, Linda (Dwayne) Mitcham, Faye (Harold) Dowell, Gerard (Ginger) Hinton, Mike (Lori) Hinton, and Debbie (Todd) Conway; and their families. Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from three o'clock in the afternoon until eight o'clock in the evening Sunday, the 23rd of September 2012 at Brentwood-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home, 9010 Church Street East, Brentwood, TN. A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at eleven o'clock the morning of Monday, the 24th of September 2012 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 9100 Crockett Road, Brentwood, TN with Father Ed Alberts officiating. Entombment to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park's South Mausoleum, 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville, TN. Those honored to serve as casket bearers include brothers Tony, Gary, Charlie, Marvin, Gerard, and Mike.
