Glenda Willoughby Clevenger, age 91, passed on Monday, January 16, 2023. She was born in Henry, TN, the daughter of William Pink Willoughby and Cluster Paschall Willoughby. A long-time member of the Church of Christ, she was a minister’s wife. As a wonderful wife, mother and friend, Glenda taught many lifelong values to those who were fortunate to know and love her, especially her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a very sweet, kind and generous soul and dearly loved by many.
Glenda was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Ernest Clevenger, Jr., her parents and two brothers. She is survived by her children, Ernie Clevenger and wife Arjaree, and Elisabeth Loyd and husband Roger. She is also survived by five adored grandchildren, Jake (Ann) Loyd, Will (Jenny) Loyd, Katie (Trey) Medlin, David Clevenger and Ashley (Miad) Ballai. Her great grandchildren are Woods and Weston Loyd, Ali Engel and Abbi Loyd, Hampton, Beckham, Halle Kate and Baylor Medlin and Bella Ballai. Also surviving Glenda is her sister, Betty Clark of Calvert City, KY as well as several nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all.
Visitation will be on Monday, Jan. 23, at Brentwood-Roesch-Patton FH (9010 Church St. E, Brentwood, TN) from 4:00 – 7:00. A graveside service will be held at Forest Hills Cemetery in Chattanooga, TN on Tuesday, Jan. 24 at 1 PM (E).
