George William Hofman

George is survived by his wife Cheryl Ann Hofman; Daughter Janet S. Hofman; Step-children Kimberly E. Fitzwater (Dale) and James W Murray Jr. (Cindy); Grandchildren Reagan E. Fitzwater and Levi S. Fitzwater, Tristin L. Murray, Joshua C. Murray (Emily) and Kayla S. Hyder (Jason); Brothers Scott G. Hofman (Diane) and Craig R. Hofman.

George was born in Philadelphia, July 11, 1952 to George F. and Eleanor D. Hofman. George graduated from Eastern Michigan in 1975 with a BS in English Literature and earned an MBA from Vanderbilt University Owen Graduate School of Management in June 1988.

George worked thirty years in the automotive industry. He began his career as OE Sales Manager for the Budd Company in Detroit. George continued his distinguished career working with the following companies: Ferodo America in Nashville, TN as National Sales Manager and General Manager, AE Pistons in South Bend, IN as President, Teleflex located in Troy, MI, as President and CEO and finished his career with JAC Products in Pontiac, MI as President and CEO.

George used his years of business experience volunteering his time to mentor at The Nashville Entrepreneur Center and TN Achieves.

George was an avid golfer, college football fan “GO Blue” and lover of wine, books, movies, music and white sand.

A celebration of life is be held at Brentwood Funeral Home in Brentwood TN on May 10, 2018 at 11:00 am with visitation beginning at 10. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to The Kidney Project at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine.
