Survived by his wife, Terri Lynn Mulloy Dixon and his two daughters, Lauren Taylor Dixon and Devon Alyse Dixon, brothers and sisters, Gina Dixon Carder, Kim Bates (James), Bobby Dixon (Teresa), and Spencer Dixon (Denise). Along with his loving nieces, nephews, and great-nieces/great-nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Johnnie Woodrow Dixon and mother, Donna Faye Smotherman Dixon.
He was a native Nashvillian who graduated from Maplewood High School where he played football. He worked for his father’s plumbing company, Dixon Plumbing, until he went to work as CEO of Osias Enterprises in real estate development where he was listed in Who’s Who of America’s Businessmen. After leaving Osias Enterprises, he went on to start his own company, Mid-South Plumbing and Lighting. He was known for his strong faith in The Lord and his integrity and compassion for all those he came in contact with. His sole purpose in life was to love his family fiercely, care for his customers well, and most importantly to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Gary accomplished this through multiple mission trips, work with the homeless, and many other acts of service throughout his life. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but we know it’s not goodbye just see you later.
