Preceded in death by husband, Sheffield Clark III, parents, Willie Mae and Brown Martin; only sister Elaine Martin Abernathy; youngest grandson, Robert Shawn Cook; and step-son, Sheffield Clark IV.
Faye had the good fortune of being born and raised in the small rural town of Morrison, located in Middle Tennessee. She was the Salutatorian of her high school class and active member of 4-H. As a 4-H member, Faye became interested in cooking. She always opted for food projects like canning, baking, dairy foods, etc. Furthermore, she took county, state and regional prizes for her work.
Faye’s entry into the business world was actually an escape from volunteer club activities; getting a job as hostess in a high-class eating establishment in Massachusetts, where she lived with her family at the time. She discovered her talent for handling people and was promoted to manager. She was also interested in fashion and retail. When she moved back to Middle Tennessee, she worked in fashion, until the hours were too demanding for a mother of two children. She was developmental coordinator for an Environmental Engineering firm, until 1982, when she left to work with her new husband, Sheffield Clark III.
After the birth of her grandson, Bobby Leib III, she would be known to everyone as “Moma Faye”.
In 1991, after remodeling their 1868 historical downtown Franklin home, she opened a Bed and Breakfast “Rebel’s Roost”; where she was in her element, entertaining out of town guest with her southern charm and culinary skills.
Faye always enjoyed her flower garden, sewing and spending time with her family and friends
She was a member of Sarah Polk Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution.
