Donna would be 74 this New Year's Eve. I miss seeing her live whenever she was in the Philadelphia PA area. Usually in Atlantic City NJ. I lost count of how many times I had been blessed with hearing her beautiful voice in person. I still listen to her music whenever I feel happy, overwhelmed , sad or celebrating. 

Whose life has been written by God, he has to live as much as he breathes, I pray to God, give peace to his soul, I am from India, I am a Muslim boy, I am very sad this news

I was blessed to have been able to see Donna in concert many times. She was a blessing in my life journey and I miss her every day.

I remember Donna as those yesterday. It really hit me hard with your passing. Just wanted to express a few great feelings about her greatly. 

I came across Mrs. Sudano last year while randomly listening to different artists on Apple Music. Her voice was unlike all the rest, and I just had to know who this angelic voice belonged to.  It’s been a year later and I don’t think I’ve gone three whole days without one of her songs playing. It’s purely magnetic, and I am convinced she had to be one of the most beautifully talented singers in the history of singers. Her talent today, would have changed the everything.

I was blessed to have been able to see Donna Summer live many times over the years. She was and still is my favorite " Therapy ". When I am feeling down her voice brings me up , when I am happy  her voice lets me celebrate and when I want to sing in my car I perform duets with her. I tell everyone I know how much she has been a part of my life , from me coming out in 1980 to my marriage and beyond . I will be singing with her when I go to my eternal home ❤️💙❤️

Donna Summers voice lifted me up in bad times while  adding poetic  rhythm to my good times.  I know there is not another pure voice such as hers.  She sung with great force  giving performances that cannot be challenged by any entertainer of today as her voice had no mechanical additives; just pure soul. 
Ms Summers is of a time when voices could not be questioned. I, along with many other music connoisseurs, will keep her forever in my heart. Sorry for your loss. 

Donna Summer's music has provided evidence that she has  not, and will NEVER dance her last dance. Heaven knows that we will keep her alive by remembering our queen of Disco.

I have just seen this and am honored to have the opportunity to write my condolences to the family and friends of Donna Summer. 

When I found out about her passing, I was stunned and deeply saddened. I was at my work desk and started crying. I felt as if a huge part of my childhood was gone. 

She was a huge part of my life, even tho I didn’t know her personally, as she had provided special memories for me. You see, I had lost my Mother some years prior and every time I heard one of Donna Summer’s songs, I would think of my Mom (R.I.P.) and me singing, dancing and simply enjoying our time together. 

I’m sure many people would agree that it was her music that brought joy and life both on the dance floor and to many singers, such as myself, who trained (with her beautiful voice) and learned her songs backward and forward. She was iconic!

Ms. Summer, you brought joy to so many. You live on in your songs and artistry. We miss you so much. I miss you. 

I pray that you’ve met my Mom in heaven and are singing and talking and enjoying each other.

Loved her songs still play them this very day. She was a wonderful singer. My condolences she will be very much missed in the music world.

I spent two Summers with Donna at Boston College in an Upward Bound program. This was in 1966 and 67 and she was already singing her heart out.  This was before she adopted the name “Summer”. I watched her career with great interest over the years and told my friends “I knew her once” She was always special.

I was graced to meet mega talent Donna Summer several times thanks to her dear friends Alice and Stanley Harris who were kind enough to introduce me at several events they hosted. I remember telling Ms. Summer, "Why is it that I know the lyrics to all of your songs but can't remember my checking account number?" She smiled. What a gracious talent. Her star shines bright. 

Just as beautiful as the first day I heard your awesome music,You will be greatly missed!!

I remember hearing Donna Summer passing and thinking this was the only living musician I really wanted to meet. And was heartbroken, and I am thankful for her voice and song writing. I hope to become a singer soon and give back to her in some way.

What can I say, except to echo everyone else's words of loss and missing the late great DONNA SUMMER(RIP) I have been a fan of Miss Summer since the early age of 14 way back in 1976 when I first heard the Four Seasons Of Love album a friend of mine used to bring over to another friends house. My first words were "WHO IS THAT SINGING!?" Since that very moment, my spirit and soul were awoken by the awesome DONNA SUMMER! 

I attended every show I could when she was in L.A. & Las Vegas, and I was very fortunate to meet her mom, dad, sisters, her kids, her husband, and go back-stage after concert shows, I was at the Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony, and again I had the chance to chat with Donna again and again before and after that event. I feel so very blessed to have gotten to know her even if it was for short times in my life with the great Donna Summer, but I will never forget her, and I miss her like everyone else who as a fan, and who loved her dearly. 

Donna was a lovely sweet and kind woman to all, & as she was to me always! I am so grateful to have known you Donna Summer, and I know that I will see you again in the afterlife once we all leave the life we have here on this earth. GOD Almighty have you in HIS mercy, care, and peace, & love. I will always love you, dearest Donna! Sincerely, your fan forever as long as I live...

When I got to see several interviews of Donna summer I found her to be a truly beautiful and noble woman.she was a class act .I regret that I never got to be one of the audience.I would have enjoyed seeing one of her concerts.I miss her like many other people.l found myself crying with grief.I wish I would have known her more while she was living.now that I know Donna summer better I appreciate her more as a singer.although she is gone from us she will never be forgotten for she has left us with a beautiful legacy of music.

QUEEN OF DISCO, Please believe, there is no disco without DONNA, all her songs paved the way to the disco scene. Remembering QUEEN Donna Summer and her upcoming 67th birthday on 12/31/2015.  I always listen to her wonderful songs.  Heard the countdown, from 1979, this weekend on satellite radio and many of her stellar songs from that year from her Live & More, Bad Girls and Greatest Hits-On The Radio albums.  What great memories, of 1979, from this classy & talented lady!!  She'll always live on through her music and via film & pictures featuring her.

you were such a class act Donna....they don't make stars like you anymore....i was a hard rock/pop fan back in the day so I just got a skim of your vocals....but I had friends going to your concerts back then and they raved about your performances...wish i had gone

It was a year ago, today, in which the world lost a true treasure when the Queen, Donna Summer, passed away.  In remembrance of her extraordinary singing talent and a lady who had beauty, class, style and great stage presence. These younger female singers should look to you, as an example, because you were the real deal! You were also a smart business woman and handled your business wisely and effectively.  Show business is not only about talent and you recognized how important the other side of it was, as well.  I am glad the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is honoring you this month.  I only wish you were here to be able to accept it (Lord knows I voted so many times for you to be inducted into it).  However, I know you are beaming with joy, as your fans are, too.  I am so glad I got to see you in concert live, back in 2008.  What an awesome performance!  You were not only a great singer/entertainer but also a caring & loving mother, wife, relative, friend, etc.  I have been a fan since I was a child and will always be one.  I listen to your music all the time and your music shall endure for eternity.  I saw a couple of shows recently which showcased the Disco era.  Let's be very clear....Donna Summer is the ONLY Queen of Disco and there is no other that shall ever hold this title!!  She was a global sensation who helped usher Disco onto the radio stations and into nightclubs because of the demand for her recordings and live appearances all over the world.  No other female shall ever upstage her role during the Disco era.......bar none!  Rest in Peace, Queen, and you will forever be missed.

She started with rock & roll ("Pandora's box" "Lady of the Night" "Love's Unkind"), euro-disco opera, Latin-caribbean dance ("Try me I Know We can Make it" Autumn Changes" "Come with Me" "Deep Inside") blues ("Remember Yesterday", "Black Lady") soul,opera,soft adult contemporanean ("Whispering Waves" "Winter Melody" more..) But, my favorite part about who she is is about you all, your early years together and the marriage that lasted in a world where marriages do not last.

 

I just wanted to send you my heartfelt condolences a few months after she passed, knowing that so many surround you initially but few remember to love on you after the first weeks have passed.

 

Donna was a huge inspiration to me, and her salvation story is mine - living so many years feeling guilty and worthless, at least to God anyway, and then the light bulb goes off. I praise God that the person of Donna Summer and the voice that was unmistakable and irresistible sings with the choirs in heaven today!

As a professional bass player here in the UK for whom Ms Summer's work had a seismic effect on a young session musician - from the utterly original and ground breaking 'I Feel Love', through to the brilliance and sophistication of her album with Quincy Jones, her body of work will remain as fresh and compelling decades from now, an achievement current so called pop stars can only dream of. As with other artists like the Bee Gees, we will never see their like again. Like many I was privileged to have been there from the start, to appreciate the sheer artistry of this music colossus whose voice always made the heart beat faster. Sorely missed but never forgotten.
