Colleda was born to the late Cecil Dean Barnard and Dorothy Nell Bates Barnard, both lifelong residents of Birmingham, AL on January 27, 1944. Colleda went to Hewitt Trussville and attended Auburn University where she met her husband, Lewis Womble.
Colleda dedicated her career in the service of the Jefferson County Alabama Board of Education. She was a dedicated member of Center Point Baptist Church, and later enjoyed her time worshipping with her women's bible group in Brentwood, TN. Colleda was an avid Auburn and Atlanta Braves fan, she spent her free time watching and enjoying the games.
Colleda instilled into her children a strong religious tradition, of which was then passed on to her grandchildren. She was a daughter, a wife, a mother, a sister, a Meme. A caring woman, full of personality and love, who put family before all else.
Colleda was proceeded in death by Lewis Womble, her devoted husband of 58 years. She is survived by her daughter Kristin (Terry) Minor; son Brian (Allison) Womble; grandson Taylor (Halie) Minor; granddaughter Calleigh Minor; grandson, Alex Womble; granddaughter Catherine Womble; great-grandson Jack Minor, great-granddaughter Emma Minor; brother Bill Barnard; sister Sandra Barnard Moore.
Colleda will be cremated followed by a celebration of life, which will be held on a later date.
