Blanche LaMotte, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2025, at the age of 72. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, on January 9, 1953, she was the cherished daughter of the late Suzanna Elizabeth (Gallina) and John Patrick Quain.
On August 3, 1974, Blanche married the love of her life, Randy Joseph LaMotte, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Cahokia, Illinois. Together, they built a beautiful life centered on love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to family.
Blanche held a variety of roles throughout her life—from Watts Operator and Bank Teller to Preschool Teacher—but her most treasured and fulfilling job was being a full-time mother to her three daughters. She poured her heart into her home and family, raising her children with compassion, joy, and a generous spirit.
Known as the life of the party, Blanche’s vibrant energy was contagious. She had a deep love for singing and dancing, entertaining, and planning memorable gatherings that brought family and friends together. Her love of Christmas was unmatched—decorating cookies, attending holiday bazaars with her daughters, and making the season magical for everyone. She also cherished summer beach vacations, card games (especially pinochle, hearts, and Phase 10), and trips to see musicals or catch a Dallas Stars hockey game. An athlete in her younger years, Blanche shined on the softball field, volleyball court, and basketball court.
Blanche was a woman of great faith, whose Christian values shaped her life. She found joy in the simple things—reading a good book, laying out in the sun, trying a new restaurant, getting her nails done, or sipping a glass of wine with those she loved. Her heart was as big as her laugh—she was a giver through and through, always putting others first.
She is survived by her daughters: Jennifer Lewis (Byron), Heather Baumbach (Rudi), and Suzanna Weimer (Jonathan); her siblings: John Patrick Quain (Kathleen), Timothy Quain (Jim Goins), Kathy Doerries, and James “Jimmy” Quain (Sandy); sister-in-law, Joan Quain; and her beloved grandchildren: Jackson Lewis, Katherine Lewis, Tucker Lewis, Owen Baumbach, Emma Baumbach, Landon Weimer, Gavin Weimer, Harper Weimer, and Austin Weimer. She is also remembered with love by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
A visitation for Blanche will be held Thursday, April 24, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM at Harpeth Hills Church of Christ, 1949 Old Hickory Blvd, Brentwood, TN 37027, followed by a celebration of life from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM.
Blanche’s legacy is one of love, generosity, and joy. Her laughter, warmth, and spirited presence will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
