Billy Guinn Marks, age 79, departed this life on December 7, 2020. He was born on June 3, 1941 in Nashville, Tennessee to the late JB Marks, Jr. And Hautense Fisher Marks. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, J.B. Marks, III, Jack Marks and Joan Marks Yearwood.
Billy graduated with a B.S. and J.D. in Law from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. He was granted a law license by The Tennessee Supreme Court in 1967 and is a former Assistant District Attorney General for the State of Tennessee. He practiced general, civil and commercial law for over thirty years in the Middle Tennessee area. After retirement, he went back to college to earn his M.A. in Christian Education from Asbury Theological Seminary. Bill became an author publishing books, “The Other side of the Law The Power of Compassion in Making Tough Legal Decisions”, and Trumped 2016 Presidential Election” and finally, “2020 The Last Election.”
He is survived by his wife of over 54 years, Marion C. Marks of Franklin, Tennessee; sons, Thomas R. Marks of Atlanta, Georgia and Mike Marks of Largo, Florida and daughter, Diane Marks of Franklin, Tennessee; Grandchildren, Parker Marks of Atlanta, Georgia, Olivia Marks of Atlanta, Georgia, Luke Randall of Franklin, Tennessee, Sophia Randall of Franklin, Tennessee, Matthew Randall of Franklin, Tennesse, Sydney Marks of Nashville, Tennessee, Gracie Marks of Largo, Florida and Elliott Marks of Largo, Florida; nieces, Lisa Flow & Family of Nashville, Tennessee, Linda Hendon & Family of Nashville, Tennessee and Laura Casey & Family of Fort Worth, Texas, and Vicki Yeley & Family of Texas.
A Private Graveside Service will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
