Washington, D.C.
As a child, Yvette was diagnosed with diabetes which she learned to manage and conquer for over 50
years. Yvette received her GED from Franklin, and began a 31-year career in the federal government.
She retired from the United States Department of Agriculture Forest Service in 2019 after being put on
dialysis to maintain her health. Yvette was a multi-talented woman who was passionate about any
activity she dedicated her time to including rooting for the Washington Redskins, bowling, playing cards,
singing, and writing poetry. More than anything, Yvette loved her family, her friends, and any baby she
had the chance to meet; she loved kids and enjoyed watching them grow up. She had a deep
appreciation for any blessing bestowed upon her, big or small, and would always try to help others see
the miracle of God’s work each day.

Carmelita Witherspoon, her nephew DeAndre Galloway, and her grandmother Beatrice Galloway.
She leaves to cherish her memory her father, Robert Kirby, daughter, Angie Galloway, sister, Zina
Galloway, sister, Lisa Hayes (Michael), nephew, Brandon Galloway, and the sunshines of her life, Ariale &
