Willie Vick Montgomery, Jr. was called home on November 20, 2019. He was born in Zachary, Louisiana on July 10, 1947. He was the middle child of three born to the late Alzaitia and Willie Montgomery, Sr. His younger sister, Janise Young, preceded him in being called home in 1979.
Willie preferred to be called Vick. He graduated from Southern University, in Louisiana with a BS Degree in Physics. He moved to Washington, DC in 1971 to attend Graduate School at Howard University. It was at Howard that he met and married Adrian Green. Of this union, they were blessed with two children.
Vick inspired many, inclusive of his nephew, Preston Landry, who pursued to become, and became an astro-physicist. He brought many people joy. He was very supportive of his family. He was loved by many. He was very kind, peaceful, a gentleman, and a scholar. He will be missed.
Vick is survived by his two children: Victor W. Montgomery and Adria Cordero; two grandchildren: Emiliana and Eliaynah Cordero; one sister: Oritia Landry; three nephews: Preston Landry, Jr., Prescott Landry and Carl Landry; Adrian Montgomery and other relatives and friends.
