Wei Hua was born in Shanghai, China on November 6, 1944 to Chi-Shuan Shen and Yuan Mu Tang. Being the second born of four siblings, it was often her duty to help raise her younger siblings. After high school, she worked at a manufacturing plant and was often praised for her hard work and dedication and rose through the ranks quickly. In 1978, she married Jia Qin Shen and had a son, Yi, and daughter, Jia.
In 1987, she made the ultimate sacrifice and established a new life with her family in the U.S. so that her children could have better opportunities. From then, she spent 31 years working in the hospitality industry and continued to work hard so that she could provide for her family. Wei Hua was always outspoken and often put her family and friends ahead of herself.
Wei Hua was a loving wife and mother. Her memory will be kept alive by her husband Jia Qin, her son Yi and his wife Stephanie, and her daughter Jia; two sisters Wai Chung Wang and Wai Chi Wu; brother Wai Ming Shen; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
