Vincent Curtis King, was born on Wednesday, February 8, 1961, in Wilmington, Delaware to the late Elder M. King and Jannie M. King. Vincent transitioned on Monday, September 12, 2022 at 10:05 am at Southern Maryland Hospital with his daughter and grandchildren by his side. Vincent was the eldest of four siblings.
Vincent was educated in Wilmington, Delaware school system, later moving to the DMV area where he graduated from Cardozo Senior High School in Washington, DC. He really enjoyed and loved his family. All of his nieces and nephews affectionally called him “Uncle King Boy”, he was a father figure to them as well.
Vincent joined and was Baptize at The Temple of Praise Church, in Washington, DC. Due to his health he was not able to attend church as he would have like too. He even had to resign from his place of employment.
Back in 2015, Vincent had a massive stroke this is what the doctors stated “He’ll never be the same”. Vincent showed them he was talking and walking even when he came home from the hospital he was in the house dancing and acting silly. He said he trusted God for his healing. This has been a battle for him but he never gave up. Most of us has said that he died from a broken heart. He and his mother was very close. He was blessed in 1979 with a baby girl “Nickey Fickey” is what he called her. He loved his daughter and grandchildren so much. He even took on others as his grandchildren and child. He really enjoyed life having fun and just being funny
He loved sports. We all had to laugh because he loved watching The Redskins, Washington Team, or Commanders whatever their name is called but you would always see him in basketball gear. LOL, this was because his mommy got him those outfits. We all know whatever mommy got him he was going to wear it. His outfits had to always match.
He will truly be missed by so many.
His love lives on through is daughter, LaVora Nicole’ Peoples, grandchildren, Darnell N. Peoples, Justice S. Johnson, Nehemiah M. Peoples, bonus children and grand. JerKenya E. Blunt, Mecah T. Peoples, and life time friend, Terry Peoples. Siblings, Tenita Lynn, Michelle King and Charlene King-Peters, (Carlos D. Peters, Sr.), One Aunt, Catherine Gunter (Ray). A Host of Nieces, Nephews, and other relatives and friends. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Elder and Jannie King, his sister, Tammy King, his brother-in-law Carlos D. Peters, Sr.
