

Travis Brandon Winters was born in Fairfax County, Virginia on June 1, 1990 to Ronina Winters Spence and Terrence Milton Chapman (Gooch). Travis is the second son born to Ronina Winters Spence. He was known to his friends as Trav. Travis was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and Diabetes in 2011. During his battle, he often reflected on these words “You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.”
Travis was educated in Maryland Public Schools, he attended Scotchtown Hills Elementary School, Dwight Eisenhower Middle School, Laurel High School and graduated from Bowie High School in May 2008. Travis enjoyed sports, he played football and baseball for the Laurel Wildcats. Throughout his athletic career, he received various awards for his outstanding efforts. After graduating high school, he enrolled in Lincoln College of Technology in Columbia Maryland where he majored in Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Heating Technology. He graduated in August 2009 and received a HVAC Apprentice License.
Travis worked for various companies throughout his career, Home Depot, The ARC of PG and Giant. He ended his career at United Parcel Services (UPS) where he was employed for twelve years and received various awards including a ten-year dedicated service award.
Travis stood 6 feet 4 inches tall and was a quiet, gentle young man who loved life. When hanging out with his close friends, he always stood in the background and observe what was going on. He also enjoyed cooking for them. Travis captured everyone’s heart with his innocent smile and huge heart. He was an authentic, kind, humble and generous soul. He enjoyed a good time and was very fashionable. He was known to wear high fashion clothing including Ralph Lauren Polo and Ze Movement, a clothing line which was created with his close group of friends. Travis was very witty and creative. He was known to think outside the box. All who were blessed to know him loved his spirit.
