Marvette Elaine Allen, age 75, of Fort Washington, Maryland passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 19, 2023 in Ft. Washington, Maryland. She was born in Washington, DC on December 15, 1947 to the late Calvin G. McFarland, Sr., and Dorothy S. McFarland. Marvette was preceded in death by her husband Billy Don Allen.
As a child, she grew up attending St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Northwest Washington, DC then became a lifelong member. She graduated from Fairmont Heights High School in Fairmont Heights, MD.
Marvette was employed at the National Science Foundation in Arlington, VA with the Elite Security Company for 15 years until she retired. She enjoyed going to concerts and listening to music, especially her favorite artist “Johnny Gill”. In her earlier years, whenever you visited her home, you were guaranteed to hear her playing her favorite artist. She loved spending time with family and friends, especially during the holidays. There would not be a Thanksgiving or Christmas where she would not ask Ebony or Dominique to bake her a sweet potato pie.
She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In her later years, she stayed to herself mostly, but she had a few friends in her building that she enjoyed talking to.
We know she was loaned to us for a little while, but she lived a good long and full life. We will miss her dearly and the memories we shared will be in our hearts forever.
Marvette leaves to cherish her loving and devoted children, Kecia Frederick of Bowie, MD; Dominique Foster (Antonio) of Lanham, MD; Angelo Frederick of Cheltenham, MD; Ebony Frederick of Laurel, MD; her loving seven grandchildren Destiny Williams, Phillip Johnson, Jr., Asia Frederick, Kaevon Scott, Nia Frederick, Amari Lewis, Elijah Lewis; three loving great grandchildren Kimora Jones, Madison Jones, Dallas Watkins; a devoted brother, Calvin G.
