“The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.”
Psalm 37:23
A Time to Be Born
Marshall Allen Jr., was born on February 3, 1940, in Holly Hill, South Carolina to the late Marshall and Agnes Asbury Allen, the eldest of three children. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother; Peter Allen and daughter; Denice Allen Seabrooks.
A Time to Grow
Marshall Allen attended South Carolina Public Schools. He was no stranger to hard work! Marshall inherited a strong work ethic from his father and was a jack of all trades. With a long resume of hard work, dedication, strength, and pride, he held several positions throughout his life. He worked as a Heavy Equipment Engineer for Fort Myer Construction company where he retired after years of dedicated service, but would never retire his kindness, willingness, and desire to help others. He lived life to the fullest and with great dignity.
A Time for Family
Marshall Allen Jr. accepted Christ into his life as a young child. He was a
strong, loving person with a gentle soul. He had a positive and cheerful personality with a beautiful and contagious smile that would light up any room he walked into. He had a natural quality that made anyone who came into his presence feel unique and appreciated. He had a great sense of humor and a genuine LOVE for his family. He always looked forward to family reunions and family gatherings. One of his favorite past-time was watching old western movies, football and baseball.
A Time to Rest
Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle went to his Heavenly Home on Tuesday, July 18, 2023.
If I have a legacy to leave my family, it is my philosophy of living and serving.
I leave you faith. Faith in God is the greatest power, but great too, is faith in oneself.
I leave you thirst for education. Knowledge is the prime need of the hour.
I leave you a respect for the uses of power. Power, intelligently directed, can lead to more freedom.
I leave you love. Love builds!
I leave you hope. Hope for a better tomorrow.
I leave you a desire to live harmoniously with your fellow man.
And finally, I leave you with a song in your heart. Singing lifts the spirit and lightens the soul.
A Time to Mourn
He leaves to cherish his precious memory: His devoted Wife, Carrie Barksdale Allen; Daughters, Nicole Allen Ray and Debra Allen; Son, Kevin (SherVerne) Allen; Grandchildren, Chasity R. Seabrooks, Marchelle C. Seabrooks, Stephon D. Ray II, Carrington N. Ray, Sydney Allen and Kevin Allen Jr.; Great grand-child, Mar’Quez L. Seabrooks; Sister, Ora “Candy” Patterson, and a host of other relatives and friends.
“Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure,
you are loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure.”
