Marjorie attended St. Hilda’s Boarding School in Jamaica, West Indies. Marjorie was previously married to Marcel Augustine (Joe) Henry whose union produced Three (3) sons, Homer, Donald & Bruce, all residing in the USA.
Marjorie spent many years working with The Jamaica Development Bank as a Telephone Operator and a Receptionist. Madge migrated to the USA in or around 1998. America became Madge’s permanent residence, and settled in Sunrise Lakes, Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Marjorie had a passion for gardening and was an avid gardener with a “green thumb". Not only gardening, but a love for animals. She was an Honorary Member of the ASPCA. Madge also enjoyed music, and one of favorite songs was Oh Danny Boy
Madge always put her three sons before herself. Madge’s home was always warm and open to not only her sons, but also their friends, treating them as extended family. She was bubbly, loving, generous, and kind to all those who came into contact with her. One instance, after migrating to the USA, Madge made sure that every month an allowance, via Western Union, was received by her “adopted daughter, Lamara.”
Marjorie Henry, known to her family as “Mama or Madge”, was born to Walter William Wilson and Mary Thomas. She was predeceased by her brothers (Beresford “Baba”, Clive “Bill”, Clinton, Lewis and Wallace). Marjorie is survived by her brothers Winston “Tony” McBean, Florida, Lloyd McBean, Florida, Derek Wilson, England, sister, Ann Malcolm, Maryland, sons Homer Henry (Ania) of Maryland, Donald Henry (Denise) of Maryland, Colin Bruce Henry of Florida, seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
