Maria Louise Gantt

1924 to 2018

Peacefully, on Sunday, November 4, 2018, Maria departed this life. Born on May 17,1924 in Staunton, VA, she was the fourth of seven children born to Philip and Mary Louise Pannell. In 1951, Maria married Francis Joseph Gantt. He preceded Maria in death on February 29, 2016, after 64 years of marriage.

Maria is survived by a son, Gregory Keith Gantt of Washington, DC; a daughter, Lillian Kay Beckley (Charles) of Mt. Rainier, MD; a grandson, Michael Chet Hansborough of Los Angeles, CA; two sisters, Jean P. Dillard of Hampton, VA and Julia P. Hairston of Arlington, VA; as well as a host of other loving relatives and friends.
