Lorenzo William Smith

He passed away on December 9, 2019 in hospice care before his departure he was surrounded by his immediate family .Who love him very much, he met and married the late Bridget “Tina” Smith and became a widower , on December 9, 1997.

He attended public schools in the District of Columbia he later received his GED and attended UDC where he majored in computer science in January 1980 to 1981 , he served in the US Army service for four years while there ,he received three badges of honor , the MKM , M-16 and The EXP. Qual.

Lorenzo a.k.a. Butchy was extremely skilled in carpentry and art he enjoyed music, sports, dancing and being with family and making people laugh . Lorenzo had a crazy sense of humor he was kind, funny, silly, loving, caring and very giving and very overprotective of his family. He also enjoyed riding his bike, drinking a brewski a.k.a. beer as he called it , and watching his favorite football team New England patriots play .

He is ,survived by his only daughter Lakiisha Smith -Wright, son-in-law James Lee Wright Jr. one grandson Joseph Ramon Smith, great grandchildren Joseph Ramon Smith Jr. and Naomi Olivia Smith, Aunt Naomie “Chickie" Wright, siblings Rita , Davene ”Peaches”, Annette, Lawrence ,Michael, brother-in-law Morris “Rat” Barfield Sr. (nephews) Michael “Mann” Smith-Dent Jr., Morris “ Moe” Barfield Jr., Antoine, Rashad, John, Daniel, (nieces) Sheria, Rasheedah, Nisha, Yvonne, Chanel, Sharona, Zoey,

great nieces and nephew‘s and devoted longtime companion Wanda Deas , and host of other relatives and friends.
