Linda was born on July 23, 1944, to Okey and Ethel Neeley in the small town of Squire West Virginia. She was the 4th of 5 children: Bob, Elizabeth, Pete, Linda, and Jimmy. Linda is survived by her one remaining sibling and best friend, Elizabeth Taylor. She is also survived by her 2 children, Rhonda Reeves and Angela Williams.
Linda graduated from Big Creek High School May of 1962 in War, WV. She completed a Business Education Curriculum, graduating as an Officer of the Future Business Leaders of America. Linda’s family relocated from West Virginia to the Washington DC Area. She received a job at the US Postal Services’ Main Office working as a secretary for a top administrator.
Shortly after moving to DC, she met and married her future ex-husband and father to their children, Carl Williams. They got married and moved to Maryland and to begin a family. Linda chose to stay home and raise their 2 girls, Rhonda and Angela. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and traveling. She hosted family holiday gatherings and planned family annual vacations. Becoming the strength and anchor for the Neeley Family, she stepped up time and time again when there was a crisis or tragedy.
Linda returned to the government workforce in 1982 as a Records Technician with the National Records Center in Suitland MD. During her 20 plus years of employment with them, she received numerous awards for outstanding performance. Becoming lovingly known as her division’s “Mother Hen”; she worked her way into multiple supervisory roles for her team. After more than 20 years of faithful employment, Linda retired at the end of 2004.
During her retirement Linda enjoyed being able to travel and experience many of the things she always dreamed of seeing. She spent time with her daughters and 4 grandchildren, Tori, Chris, Devin and Erin. She enjoyed organizing get-togethers for both her family and work friends. Linda loved to go out to eat, especially for seafood! She enjoyed spending time with those that she Loved.
Linda was Loved by many and will be missed by them all!
