November 28, 1935, in Washington, DC to the late Luke Jackson and Pearl Barnes
of Sparta, Georgia. My dad has never seen his dad. He passed before he was born.
His father’s sister Aunt Josie (Godmother), she treated him as her son.
He married the love of his life to the late Ursula Louise Jackson. Lawrence was a
diligent husband and father. Out of this union, they were blessed with one child.
Laurene Richele Jackson-Harris better known as “Spunky”.
Lawrence attended public schools. He attended Garnett Patterson Jr. High School
and Cardozo Sr. High School. He had the opportunity to attend Delaware University.
His life took a different turn. He has always put family first. Family meant the world
to him. He always expressed that family always sticks together.
He was a loving and caring family person. He loved the Washington Redskins.
He took pride in being a cab driver. He enjoyed smoking his cigars and smoking his
pipe. As time went on, he later was employed with Akin, Gump, Hauer and Feld, as
a professional driver with this prestigious Law Firm out of Texas.
Lawrence leaves to mourn: his daughter, Laurene Jackson-Harris, his grandson
Darian T. Jackson and two great grandsons, Darian & Dayon Elliot. He was the
godfather to the late Arlene Johnson (“Sweetpea”). He leaves to mourn one brother,
Elvin Jackson, two sisters-in-laws, Doris (Cookie) Smith and Blanch Jackson and a
host of nieces, nephews, friends and associates.
