Passed away at home on Saturday, June 24, 2017. She was born October 1, 1931 in Washington, DC; a proud alumna of Dunbar High School, 1949 and Miner Teachers College. She retired from Prince Georges County Public Schools after 23 years of teaching. In her retirement, she enjoyed traveling and volunteering. She is survived by her husband of 62-1/2 years, Jesse; children, Jennifer, Warren (Lynelle), Janice and Leslie; one sister, Henrietta Hawkins; sister-in-law, Rosa McNair; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Family will receive friends on Friday, July 7, 2017 from 12:30 p.m. until time of service 1:30 p.m. at Fort Lincoln Funeral Home, 3401 Bladensburg Road, Brentwood, MD. Interment Fort Lincoln Cemetery.
