He was born January 8, 1951, in Gallagher Memorial Hospital in Washington D.C., to Jay and Portia (Malone) Evans. He was a graduate of Washington D.C. and served in the United States Marine Corp.
He also was a residence of Manassas Virginia for many years.
He worked on many homes, hospitals, and office building projects. He was an excellent carpenter, and homebuilder.
He was witty, stubborn and had a sharp mind until the end. He loved playing cards, talking trash and making jokes. He loved being around family, watching movies, playing music, having cookouts, and talking to friends. As a child, he loved going to church, he would wake everyone up to get ready. If no one wanted to go, he would make us feel guilty.
He is survived by three brothers, one sister, his children, grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Gary was loved by his family and friends, and will be missed dearly.
