Frances Marie Biddy, of Washington, DC passed away on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 peacefully in her sleep at the age 74 years. Frances resided in a loving and caring group home surrounded by many friends that looked after her and cared for her until she passed. Before Frances passed she was visited by many relatives including her sisters, nieces/nephews and children.
Frances Marie Biddy, the eldest of six (6) girls was born on March 6, 1947, in Washington, DC to Archibald Finley and Sally Betty Finley. Frances’ early years before her mother passed away were going to Orange County, Virginia on the weekends and summer vacations to Grandma Finley’s 2nd home to rest, relax, and pick peaches from the orchard. The last fruit Frances ate was peaches that her sister Elaine’s brought to her before she passed away.
Frances was known for her loving and beautiful smile and her kind words that she expressed to everyone that crossed her path. Frances was a giving person who took people for who they were and never had a harsh word to say to anyone; she always chose to see the good in people regardless of their imperfections.
Frances was joined into holy matrimony to the late Lorenzo A. Biddy, Sr. who passed away 20 years earlier on May 2, 2001. While visiting the late Lorenzo Biddy Sr. in the hospital before God called him home, Lorenzo told his children to take care of their mother and to always be kind to her. In this moment of silence and peacefulness, Frances and Lorenzo Sr. just smiled at each other as they held each other’s hands. After Lorenzo’s passed away Frances desired to become more involved with her children. As God’s will would have it, Frances’ last child would reach out to her and the other family members and become part of Frances' support. Frances's last words the day she passed away was “Now I know where all of my children are.”
Frances leaves to cherish her memory of her only daughter Laura J. Biddy and her three (3) sons, Lorenzo A. Biddy, Jr. (Daughter-in-law) DaShawn Biddy, Bobby L. Biddy, and Carnell M. Mosley.
Frances joins her late sisters Sylvia Finley and Edith V. Pickens.
Frances is survived by her sisters Betty Elaine Rich, Christine McCoy, and Vera Finley, including a host of nieces/ nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Frances leaves behind seven (7) grandchildren, Antoine, Sr. (wife Aubreya), Angelo, Ryan, Dasia (whom Frances called Dasia-Boo), JaLynn, Lorenzo III, and Emmanuel; and six (6) great-grandchildren, Angel, Antoine, Jr., Zoe, Addisyn, Madison, and new great grand-son Lamont, Jr., born January 13, 2021.
Last but not least, Frances leaves behind her dearest friends, caregivers, and chosen family at Community Connection.
