Curtis Chavan Brown

Curtis Chavan Brown, 47, of Silver Spring, Maryland transitioned from his Earthy home on Friday, November 4, 2022, at 9:22 a.m. Curtis was born September 20, 1975, to Curtis Brown (predeceased) and Cathy A. Mewborn.

As a young child, Curtis was an avid reader. His formal years of education were spent as a student of the Prince George’s County Public Schools. After graduating from Northwestern High School in 1992, Curtis' passion for literature, art, and classical music led him to The Catholic University of America where he graduated in 1996 with a BA in History. And although he had no formal training, Curtis was blessed with the gift of singing. He was often called upon to sing at weddings, church services, and Celebrations of Life. One of his favorite pieces was Ava Maria.

Here to celebrate his life is his mother, two sisters Stephanie Ballance and Hope Duncan, three nephews Ashly, Robert, and Gabriel; one niece Trinity; three uncles Michael Brown (Claudia), Kenneth Brown, and Kelvin Mewborn (of the home); three aunts Valerie Brown, Patricia D. Mewborn (whom Curtis affectionately referred to as Aunt Niece), and Cynthia Mewborn; and a host of cousins and friends.
