Christine Ollie White was born on May 4th, 1934 to the late Johnnie and Ollie Ouzts in Aiken, South Carolina, where she grew up attending the local public school systems. In the late 1954, she followed her sister’s footsteps and relocated to Washington, DC where she attended D.C. Teachers College. On May 28, 1955 she and Roger White would marry and start their family, residing in Northeast Washington, DC.
In March 1971 Roger and Christine moved the family to Silver Spring, MD where she began working at Kraftman's Press as a book binder. In 1973 she began employment at the Government Printing Office as a book binder and was gainfully employed there until she retired in 2000.
Christine accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and was baptized at an early age. She used her God given talent and sung in the church choir along with her sisters. She served the Lord as a member of the New Bethany Baptist Church of Washington,DC. It was later on when she and Roger would find a new church home at New Southern Rock Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Rudolph White where she served as a Pastor’s Aid and sung in the choir.
Christine was called home to be with the Lord on September 30, 2020 with her family around in comfort.
She leaves cherished memories to her caring husband of 65 years Roger, her loving sons Derrick (Anita) Keith (Georgette), Warren, Christopher (Adrian), her daughter in love Glenda, her sister in law Maxine, her beloved grandchildren Jamal, Xavier, Sydney, Denzel, her extended grandchildren Sherry, KeKe, Demetrius, Je'Dan, Dion, Brian, Jay and a host of nieces and nephews. Christine was preceeded in death by her son Kevin, her five brothers, Thomas William, Walter, Lonnie and James, her two sisters, Sarah and Ophelia, and her parents Ollie and Johnnie. Christine also leaves to cherish her close and loving friends Judy, Margaret, and Mary.
Christine was a jubilant spirit with an infectious smile, gleeful spirit, and warm heart. She leaves us all with wonderful memories of a doting wife, a wonderful mother, a sweet grandmother, and a caring friend.
