Celia Ann Price, affectionately called “Tudy” by family and friends, began her eternal life with the Lord on January 15, 2020. Celia was born in Roanoke, Virginia, on March 26, 1961, to Helen Paulette Stuart (Smith) and the late Richard Lee Price. The oldest of four children, Celia spent her primary years in Floyd, Virginia. She moved to Washington, D.C. at age 12, where she attended middle school and high school. In 1976, Celia volunteered as a Candy Striper at Howard University Hospital, which served as the catalyst to her career choice. In 1980, Celia graduated from Margaret Murray Washington Vocational High School, where she studied nursing and obtained certification to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
In 1981, Celia attained full licensure as an LPN and a position within Howard University Hospital. She worked as a LPN for the Neurology Department and in the Operating Room for a combined 39 years. It is at Howard University Hospital where she met her loving husband Warren Temple. Celia thoroughly enjoyed her nursing career, traveling and spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed doting over her younger siblings, nieces and nephews. Celia loved engaging people and never met a stranger. To meet her was to fall in love with her infectious smile and spirit.
Celia is preceded in death by her stepfather, Thomas Smith. She is survived by her husband, Warren Temple; mother, Helen P. Smith; sister, Andrea N. Price of Loganville, Georgia; brothers Reginald A. Hensley (Traci Hensley) of Lawrenceville, Georgia, and John Thomas Smith (James Hunt) of Accokeek, Maryland; step-daughter Elani Temple of Douglasville, Georgia; step-son, Warren D.
