Carolyn Margie Hysan, age 73 of Bowie, Maryland, succumbed to the COVID-19 virus at Arundel Medical Center, Annapolis, MD on Friday, April 17, 2020. She was born July 4, 1946, in Tabor City, North Carolina to the late Grady and Majorie Wright.
Carolyn received her education at Bladensburg Junior and Senior High schools in Bladensburg MD. She married David Klein and from this union had three children, David Scott Klein, Kelly Klein and the late Jeanie Klein. On May 19, 1980, she married Mr. Robert Joseph Hysan, and raised Scotty, Kelly and Jeanie, and grandchildren. Mr. Hysan died on June 4, 2017.
Mrs. Hysan is survived by her son, David Scott Klein; daughter, Kelly Klein; grandchildren, Candice, Marie Pearl Klein, Joseph David Klein, Kalya Marie Comnpton, Amanda Hunt, Cory Hunt, Ashley Elizabeth Hunt, Ian Rucker and Amber Sue Rucker; many great-grandchildren; sisters, Stacy Dawson and Wanda Gale Wilson (Bud); a brother, TS Wright (Lyn); nieces and nephews; Kim Richmond (Mike), Pamela Jett, Brandy Robison, Wayne Robinson, David Dawson (Shelly), Steve Wright, and John Wright (Tina). Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Majorie and Grady Wright; and her step-father, Henry J. Dawson, who married our mother in 1958, and raised TS, Carol, Wanda, and Stacy.
Carolyn lived in Tabor City on an eight acre farm, until the passing of her father at the age of eight; moved to Hyattsville, Colmar Manor, Mt. Rainier, Kent Village and Bowie, all in Maryland. Mr. Henry J. Dawson and Mom raised us well; teaching us values, love, trust, kindness and to treat everone fairly and with respect. This followed her throughout her life. Like Henry, if she could, she would help you out, at one time or another. Bob and Carol had everyone's children; sisters; brothers; mother; father; and grandchildren under their roof. She was a big sister, was there in time of need; was always supportive with love and understanding for everyone, family and friends. Each one us, has some memory of Carol's kindness, generosity, guidance, and old-fashion good advice. She worked in the retail business, Teses's Dress Shop, Queenstown, MD, University Liquor Store and Tick Tock Liquors with Bob. She also worked at Hecht's and Macy's Department stores, where she retired in 2017.
Memorial contributions may be sent in the memory of Carol and Robert Hysan to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or you may send flowers to Fort Lincoln Funeral Home, 3401 Bladensburg Road, Brentwood, MD 20722.
The accursed virus has taken our Carol away from us, but she is now in everlasting glory in God's house, his newest angel, where she has been given wings. Rest in peace for evermore. We will see you again!
