Allan Earl “Doc” Lucas, Jr, Ph.D., 67, of Washington, DC, passed away at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC on April 6, 2021. He was born September 16, 1953, in Washington, DC to the late Allan Earl Lucas, Sr. and Gladys Mae Whitted.
Doc lived an extraordinary life full of service to his family, community, and country. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps, was a Mason, U.S. Marshall, DC Police Officer, NRA Instructor, DC Corrections Officer, Certified Red Cross Instructor, Black Belt and Master of multiple martial arts disciplines, and Owner of a successful Security and Training Service Company. He wrote extensively on the Constitution and freedoms. He enjoyed challenging the status quo and excelled in every obstacle that stood in his way, both personally and professionally. Doc was a lover of education. He went back to school and achieved numerous awards and degrees including a Doctorate of Philosophy in Criminal Justice.
More important than his achievements, Doc loved spending time with his family, friends, and dogs Sgt. Eagle and Lt. G-Man. He loved teaching, sharing knowledge and inspiration with anyone in his presence. He would tell you his greatest joy was providing for his family, and sharing each day with his best friend and wife, Sharon.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Milan, Cedric, his sister; Gwynetta Hailey.
Doc is survived in death by his wife Sharon, brother; Joseph, daughters; Natalie and Sherlena, sons; Allan III, Alexander, daughter-in-law Astrid, and many grandchildren.
