He was born in Lindsay Oklahoma, moved at age 12 to Porterville California. Would later marry the love of his life Edna in 1950. After 3 children later moved to Brentwood California where they had 2 more children.
Retired from Domtar Gypsum after 30 years.
After retirement him and Edna moved to Oakley with his son Rick on 5 acres. There he had planted several fruit trees and vegetables. That had become his new hobby, taking care of his orchard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordan and Etta Taylor and sister, Lois Webb.
He is survived by his lovely wife Edna of 72 years. Sons Jerry Jr and Rick. Daughters, Karen, Tami, and Linda. 13 Grandchildren, 24 Great Grandchildren and 10 Great Great Grandchildren. Sisters Helen Bledsaw and Wanda Hulse.
Jerry had a love for Bowling in his younger years and took home many trophies along with water skiing. He loved travelling with his family and took many camping trips to the mountains and ocean. Him and Edna took many motor homing trips across America with their good friend and took many cruises with his sister and her husband. He owned many different motorcycles and took many trips with Edna and his friends. He also had a love for fast cars and in his later years, would go to the car races with his son-in-law Jesse every Saturday night.
He enjoyed quiet evenings with Edna watching their favorite TV shows and eating popcorn.
His Grandchildren called in Papa, and every one of them loved their Papa! When a new one was born, he couldn’t wait to see them.
Jerry was loved by many. He loved his family more than anything. He said Family is everything, and that nobody loves their family more than I do!
