Born February 13, 1944 in Walla Walla, Washington, Jan moved across the country in the 1950s and 60s as her father Ron Hill, a civil engineer, worked on projects across the US. In the 60s Jan and her family moved to Pakistan, where her father’s job took the family, while working on the construction of the Mangla Dam and Power Station. Once an adult, Jan settled in Brentwood, CA. Employed in various administrative positions, moving up to office manager and bookkeeper Jan retired from Beasley Electric where she met and married the love of her life, Hoyle Beasley.
Jan had a creative artistic spirit and enjoyed many pursuits; painting, drawing, quilting and reading. She made several beautiful projects gifted to friends and family. Jan held a strong Christian faith which she valued deeply to carry her through both joyful moments and tough times.
Jan was the eldest daughter in a family of five. She maintained close ties with her relatives she grew up with in Walla Walla; Carol (Piper) Martin, Bill Piper, and Dave Piper.
She was a proud loving mother to son Ron with whom she cherished living for the past few years and who was her devoted caregiver to the end.
Jan was preceded in death by her adored brother Jerry in 1956; father Ron Hill in 1992, precious husband Hoyle in 2003, and mother Ruth Hill in 2018. Her beloved surviving family include; son Ron, sister Barbara Hill, brothers Richard Hill and Mark Hill, step-daughter Teresa (Beasley) Bustos, step-son Trevor Beasley, grandchildren Samuel Garrido, Samantha (Bustos) Turner, Madeline (Bustos) Bryant, and Olivia Bustos. Cherished cousins, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends provided joy throughout Jan‘s life and share the loss of her amazing soul.
Funeral Services will be held at 10am on Thursday June 6th 2024 at Brentwood Funeral Home, 839 1st St, Brentwood, CA 94513. Immediately following will be the family graveside ceremony at Union Cemetery, 11545 Brentwood Blvd, Brentwood, CA 94513.
In lieu of flowers Jan’s son Ron respectfully requests donations in her name to the American Cancer Society at donate.cancer.org. As a breast cancer survivor, this organization was near and dear to Jan and her family.
