Clarence (Doc) Brown was born in Norwich Kansas to Dr. and Mrs. CC Brown DDS.
In 1942 Clarence made 2nd Lt. in the Army Air Core and flew recon in WW2 in England, Africa and Italy. He served during the Korean War and Vietnam. During his service in the Air Force he was also stationed in the Azores and Germany. In his capacity as Deputy Commander of Air Rescue he set up all the tracking stations for the Gemini missions in Europe. Clarence retired in Livermore Ca. in 1969. In 1995 he moved to Summerset retirement community in Brentwood Ca. In August 2010 he became a resident of Quail Lodge in Antioch Ca.
Clarence is preceded in death by his loving wife of 39 years, Joyce Marriott Brown , his son David Teerlink Brown and his sister Betty Vornauf. He is survived by his sister Diane Couch of Anthony KS and his children, Shawna and John Clanton of Culver OR., Jana Travis of Chico CA. and Stephen and Lisa Brown of Brentwood CA. Ten grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.
Friends and family are invited to visitation and funeral services at Brentwood Funeral Home, 839 1st Street, Brentwood CA. Wednesday Oct. 19, 2011. Viewing from 9:00am to 11:00. Funeral services are at 11:00 am. There will be a reception immediately following located at 1190 Saratoga Place, in Brentwood.
