Aunt Carol was such a sweet lady with a strong devoted Catholic faith which I admired. I remember when I first met Brian back in 1996 going over to her & Uncle Louie’s house she made me feel so welcome. I especially remember her delicious homemade macaroni salad. It was the best! I also remember about 18 years ago all of us went up to Brookings Oregon to visit Keith & Jill. One day while we were there we all went to the river, Aunt Carol & I hung out & enjoyed a “Mikes Hard Lemonade” together. She was always so much fun! Such a great trip. She was such a special lady with a heart of gold. I feel so blessed to have known her. She surely was loved by many & will be deeply missed.

We got to know Carol at family visits to our son and his wife Karen (Carol's niece)  She was a sweet lady and her husband Louie a wonderful person.
It was our privilege  to meet them each time. She will be missed, but one day we will meet again at the feet of her and our savior Jesus Christ.

Aunt Carol is a strategic part of all my childhood memories. I am so grateful that, as an adult, I was able to express to her how much I love her and the significance she holds in my life.
She will always be in my heart

My big sister, what can I say. I remember  times over the years, when I was small and we had a walnut tree in our front yard,  as I watched Carol climb up and sit where the branches. and dare brother Bill to try and get past her. 
Carol was a great Swimmer, Water Skier, Drum Majorette (in High School) Mariner Scout. Our Mother took Carol to Oakland, when she was 14-15 years old, to swim with an AAU Coach. Carol swam against an Olympic hopeful and beat her in the Butterfly.. The time spent and commute became a burden, So Carol begged off. One instance on the way home to Antioch, the car had a flat tire. I found out years later that a Motorcyclist stopped and changed the tire. Years later, Mom told me more. The Motorcyclist was a Hell's Angel. Mom showed me the business card, it said "You have been assisted by a member of the Hell's Angels.
1960, July 3rd, Carol married Louis Chavez, The reception was held at our house, and Mom and Carol did all of the preparation,
a huge gathering and celebration. They started a family that has grown in size. Carol's Legacy, left by a Great Sister, Mother and 
Grand Mother.

Carol and Louie were the first couple I met in this wonderful Chavez Family. This was Christmas Eve 1967. I was young and a little scared but they were both amazing and we had a great time.
Right away Carol became a great friend and I quickly learned what an exceptional caring person she was. She did things like call you every morning if you were sick until you became better. I would ask her advice with a problem or worry I had and they instantly became her focus . She was a true friend to everyone who knew her.  We loved laughing and being silly and we did that a lot!!
Albert and I have great memories of the fun times with her and so do our children. We all loved her and will miss her so much.

I am truly sorry for your loss. Carol was a super cool person. I had the pleasure of meeting her at one of the family picnics. I really enjoyed her stories. Hugs to all!

Aunt Carol you were such a kind and beautiful person, you will absolutely be missed. So many wonderful memories. As a child i remember a couple Christmases at your house. And just like the obituary says, you were always a wonderful hostess. So warm and welcoming. I remember your smiles and laughs, telling stories, and playing cards with my parents. And of course entertaining us playing the organ, really great childhood Christmas memories. Also our families going to Lake Tahoe, and all the time that we all got spend their together in the cabin also with MaryLou and Frank's family, lots of good times and laughs. Lastly, i remember that after my mom had battled with cancer, i remember you were so very kind and supportive to her.  It was just your nature, a kind and generous soul.  I loved you dearly, and will miss you greatly.

One of the many wonderful memories we shared with Carol and Louie, was the retirement celebration cruise we took to Mexico in 1992.  What a fun and memorable time we had.

When I was new to the Chavez family, and was just starting on my journey to learn the 100 names, Aunt Carol took me under her wing.  She always had room for me while holding court, the family cycling through to talk and visit.  She made time for me and included me in her conversations, and through her, I learned not only the 100 names, but also how the Chavez family cares for each other, and holds each other up.  I am better for it, and my family benefits from her lessons.  Be at peace Aunt Carol, we will carry on your legacy.

Mom your love for your husband for us kids and family was boundless. You always gave me advice without judgement and your love always got me through some pretty difficult times . You never waiverd on serving others and put yourself second when it came to a need for any of us . You brought smiles to anyone who knew you and made all feel welcomed in your presence.We will miss you greatly but know your love will live all through all who knew you love you forever.Your son Cameron and Patricia.

My memories of Aunt Carol go back so many years that it is difficult to remember all of the great conversations we had.  She was always laughing, smiling and so cheerful.  I know her sons were a source of strength and she's now in a better place.  We will miss her smile......

Mom, what can be said? You were our protector, our guiding light, a fountain of knowledge, a devoted mother. You were always compassionate, loving, a source of wisdom, and advise, which you didn't shove down our throats, but rather allowed us to ponder and then hopefully make the most sensible, responsible choice. You held us tight when needed. Let us stumble but pick ourselves up to try and get it right the next time. I could go on. I just want you to know I love you so very much and will miss you but hold your memory in my heart forever.  God bless and hey, say hello to your husband, hello to our dad.
