Bonnie Victoria McLain was born on February 10, 1939 in Ravenden Springs, Arkansas. The youngest of 3 children of Lewis and Wilma Knauss. Her family moved to Oakley when she was five years old. She attended Oakley schools and graduated from Liberty Union High School in 1957. After graduating, she went to the Maude Cornwall's School for Secretaries in Stockton, California. She married Daniel McLain on July 3, 1958. They were married for 55 years prior to his death on October 6, 2013. They raised two children, son Marc and daughter Kim. Bonnie was employed as a secretary for Judge Ted Ohmstede and then the Oakley/Diablo Water District, from which she retired. Bonnie passed from this world on August 21, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents Lewis and Wilma, brother Elmer, husband Daniel, and daughter Kim. She is survived by sister Ellorie, son Marc, son-in-law Barry, 6 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. She was an accomplished cook and seamstress. She enjoyed traveling, camping, sewing, quilting, and any activity involving family.
